I mean I just bought a decent laptop myself but it depends on what your'e using it for really. If you're gonna go for a desktop I'd say build one up to what you feel like you need within your budget. Maybe put aside a little for a decent laptop that can run a few things and handle what you need if you're still doing the school thing and put the rest into building a computer.
